Malayalam film debut perfect start to the year: Srushti

Chennai, Jan 24: Actress Srushti Dange, who has predominantly worked in Tamil films, says her foray into Malayalam filmdom with Mohanlal-starrer upcoming war drama "1971: Beyond Border" is the perfect start to the year for her."I was first contacted for this project last year in October. After initial talks, I didn t hear back from the team. Director Ravi contacted me recently and signed me on. I was signed as I was told I have an innocent face," Srushti told media.Being directed by Major Ravi, the film also stars Allu Sirish and Arunoday Singh."Although this is a war film, it features a small love track and I m part of it. My character starts and ends with a love letter. I have already started shooting and I have been welcomed with such warmth. It s lovely being part of a new industry. This is the perfect start to the year," she said.In the film, she plays Sirish s love interest.She is also excited about her look in the film as it will go with the era the story is set in."It s set in the 1970s and my look will be unlike anything I have sported so far," she said.
