Ranga reddy dist tops while Medak in 2nd place

Medak, January 24: A New revolution has been happening in India on renewable energy sources. Already many states had achieved the successful usage of renewable sources like solar etc.Now, Telangana state had successfully achieved two districts for using solar energy Utilization i.e., Ranga Reddy and Medak districts.Medak Collector Bharathi Holikare left for New Delhi on Monday evening to receive a prize from Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for installing the second most number of off-grid and decentralized solar power packs at houses in the erstwhile Medak district. The district stood second after Rangareddy district in Telangana.Union Minister for Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goel will present the award to all State-level winners at an event on Tuesday in New Delhi. In the erstwhile Medak district, Telangana New and Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (TNRECL) could install off-grid solar power panels at 320 houses in which 220 were on double-bedroom houses at Erravelly in Gajwel Assembly constituency in Siddipet district.The TNRECL and Rangareddy district administration could install off-grid solar power packs in about 700 houses in during the year 2015-16. The district bagged the first prize.
