Congress and TRS have named Padmavathi Reddy and Saidi Reddy as their respective candidates for the forthcoming Huzurnagar by-election.
This has apparently forced BJP high command to make last-minute changes to their plans.
Initially, BJP was planning to field Kala Reddy as its candidate for Huzurnagar bi-election. But they changed their mind in the last minute as both Congress and TRS had fielded contestants belonging to Reddy community. The saffron party then decided to go ahead with Kota Ramarao, who hails from BC community.
BJP is hoping that fielding a BC candidate can fetch them great support from minorities, hence the change of plans.
The by-election is set to be held on October 21st. It is being said that even TDP might contest in the election.
