TS Buses not being allowed to enter bus bays in Vijayawada

Hyderabad December 27: Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy yesterday said that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses not being allowed to enter bus bays in Vijayawada and other important bus stations in Andhra Pradesh State has not come to the notice of the State government.Replying to a question raised by TRS MLA Srinivas Goud during the question hour in the Assembly on Monday, the Transport Minister said it was a fact that Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has been operating buses from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in the city and other places where bus traffic was heavy and the TSRTC was also operating regular buses to various important places of Andhra Pradesh from Mahatma Gandhi bus station and other places in Hyderabad as well as from the districts in the State.During holidays and festivals, special buses were also being operated to Andhra Pradesh in addition to regular services from the MGBS and other places in Hyderabad, he said.Srinivas Goud alleged that Andhra private bus operators were operating 2,800 buses in Telangana but Telangana government was operating 200 buses in Andhra Pradesh State. He alleged that the private bus operators from Andhra Pradesh were taking permission differently but they were operating as stage carriers in violation of RTA rules. The RTA officials were booking cases only against 30 to 40 instead of thousands.
