Minister Allolla Indrakaran Reddy motives for 'no plastic Telangana'

Hyderabad, March 6: Minister for forest, environment and endowments Allolla Indrakaran Reddy has gave a strict warning to officials to book criminal cases against the industries and hospitals which are adding to the pollution woe.

While talking in a review meeting, Indrakaran Reddy stated that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is working hard to protect the environment. "Haritha Haram is not just a role model project for the state but also for the nation to increase the green cover" he said.

Complaining about the unconcern by some hospitals and industries, he stated, "Despite taking a number of initiatives by the Chief Minister, some of the industries and hospitals chose to neglect rules and continue to pollute the environment."

Minister also trying to take measures to avoid use of plastic. He directed the officials to come up with alternatives like jute bags. By mentioning Maharashtra, he said, "Officials should work to make Telangana a plastic-free state on the lines of Maharashtra." He also stated the officials to take care about the Ameenpur lake, look into the problem of water scarcity in the Botanical garden.
