Rohit Sharma becomes Highest Run Getter in T20 Internationals

Rohit Sharma became the highest run scorer in T20 International here in Auckland. He overtook Martin Guptill during the second T20I against New Zealand at the Eden Park.

Rohit achieved the feat in style, hitting leg-spinner Ish Sodhi for a six. He is the stand-in captain of India as Virat Kohli has been given the rest. Rohit Sharma got out cheaply in the 1st match where India was chasing the mammoth total of 219. In the second match, he looked in good touch.

Rohit also surpassed Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik who is now at a third place with 2263 run. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is at No. 4 with 2167 run. Rohit got out on 50 off 29 balls, taking his total run to 2288. His inning was instrumental in the match as India won the match and leveled the series 1-1, making the third and last T20 decider

Rohit (102) also joined Guptill and Gayle in an elite club,becoming the third international cricketer to hit 100 sixes.

Rohit Sharma is the Captain of Mumbai Indians in IPL and has made his team won the title three times with his batting and captaincy.
