Krunal Pandya struck twice in the sixth over. They lost three-wicket inside powerplay. The scoreboard read 43 for 3 after 6 overs.

Colin de Grandhomme struck beautifully after coming to bat. New Zealand scored 61 runs between 11 to 15 over. After scoring half century Colin de Grandhomme lost his wicket. From there on run did not come at the brisk rate and New Zealand only managed to score 158 in 20 overs.
