TDP, YSRCP, Jansena to field new faces in polls

Anantapur, Feb 01: A huge number of existing representatives and in-charges from various parties have been seeking a change of their seats in the coming polls because of priority and victory chances.

Majority of MP candidates who contested in the last elections are likely to be replaced in Rayalaseema region on various reasons, including joining of new faces from other parties. Except one or two LS seats, candidates from both the TD, YSRC and Jana Sena will field new candidates.

Anantapur MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy of TD has already declared about his retirement from direct politics and announced that his son J.C. Pavankumar Reddy will be in the fray for 2019 polls. Meanwhile, former MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy of YSRC, who tasted defeat in the last elections against TD candidate Diwakar Reddy, was reportedly firm on Anantapur urban Assembly segment.

YSRC sources revealed that Ananta Venkatrami Reddy will be the candidate from urban Assem-bly segment instead of the Lok Sabha seat which is likely to be replaced by any retired official- either mines director Rajagopal or former DRDA project director T. Rangaiah.

In Hindupur Lok Sabha segment, sitting MP Nimmala Kristappa reportedly plans to appease the High Command seeking Puttaparthi Assembly segment. Similarly, YSRC leader D. Sridhar Reddy, who tasted defeat from Hindupur Lok Sabha segment in 2014 polls, is confined to Puttaparthi Assembly segment.

Sources said that he was not showing interest on Hindupur LS seat and the Party High Command assured a seat to former circle inspector Gorantla Madhav who recently tendered resignation. Sources said the party wanted to attract BC voters from both Anantapur and Hindupur.

In Kadapa district, TD and BJP alliance fielded Purandareswari from Rajampet in the previous polls but YSRC candidate P. Mithun Reddy defeated her. TD plans to search for a new candidate from Rajampet Lok Sabha segment which also has connectivity with Chittoor district.

The party is yet to decide about the candidature of either minister D. Adinarayana Reddy or MLC Ramasubba Reddy as an LS candidate from Kadapa district. Rajya Sabha member C.M. Ramesh plans to contest from Proddatur Assembly segment.

In Kurnool district, entry of former union minister and senior Congress leader Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy into TD may change the candidatures of Kurnool Lok Sabha for both the parties. YSRC has to file a new candidate after sitting MP Butta Renuka defected to TD. Similar situation is there in Nandyala LS segment.
