CPSEs to Implement EWS from February 1st

New Delhi, January 28: Central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) will be implementing the 10 percent reservation quota for economically weaker sections (EWSs) in respect of all direct recruitment vacancies from 1st February. The families whose family has a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh comes under EWS s.

"All ministries/departments are requested to advise all CPSEs under their respective jurisdiction to ensure that 10 percent reservation for EWSs (as per the provisions of DoPT) would be effective in respect of all direct recruitment vacancies to be notified on or after February 1, 2019," the Department of Public Sector Enterprises. Also, Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar has directed all the educational institutes to implement the quota from the coming academic year.





There are more than 335 Central public sector enterprises on March 31, 2018. They employed 10.88 lakh people as permanent employees, excluding casual and contractual workers, in 2017-18 compared to 11.55 lakh in the previous survey.
