Two bombs exploded in Philippines church

Two bombs exploded at a cathedral in the town of Jolo in the Mindanao island group of the Philippines. The first blast occurred during Sunday Mass, sending churchgoers rushing outside, where a second bomb bit later outside the church in Parking slot.

The attack on the island of Jolo comes less than a week after voters there rejected its inclusion in a Muslim autonomous area that was overwhelmingly approved in other parts of the Mindanao island group. At least 20 people were killed and about hundred were wounded. No group has claimed responsibility, but Jolo is a base for notorious militant groups such as Abu Sayyaf which were been doubted as culprits. Most of the victims are civilians yet there are also some troops among them.
