Focus on Tourism development: East Godavari Collector

Amaravati, January 27: Karthikeya Mishra the collector of East Godavari stated that soon they will emerge as cultural and tourism capital in the coming days.

In the occasion of 70th Republic Day celebrations at Parade grounds on Saturday collector said that the development of Silparamam at Kakinada beach, construction of Godavari Kalakshetram besides development of Damerla Art Gallery in Rajamahendravaram were some of the measures being initiated as part of development in the district.


The collector said to keep efforts on tourism development in the district like eco-tourism, beach tourism, and temple tourism, he also added that the recent development of Kakinada beach with Rs 65 crore, Coringa mangrove forest, Hope Island was part of it. He also stated that the establishment of jungle safari at Maredumilli in East Godavari agency would help in attracting tourism.

The collector also informed that tourism sector would create more employment in direct and indirect form, ha also added that Bharat Mala road project works would connect Kakinada port to NH 216 at Annavaram and the four-lane ADB road from Rajanagaram to Samarlalkota.
