Arun Jaitley undergoes surgery in US

New Delhi, January 24: Arun Jaitley, the Union minister has to go for New York on Thursday for his surgery following a kidney transplant last year.

Arun Jaitley, 66, is expected to present this government s last budget on February 1 before Prime Minister Narendra seeks re-election in a general election due by May.

Earlier, a person who was close to Jaitley said about the medical condition of the minister that Jaitley "recovered well" from the transplant in New Delhi eight months ago.

Now according to the sources, Jaitley underwent tests for soft tissue cancer this week.

On Wednesday, Railways and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal was given the additional charge of Finance Ministry during Jaitley s absence.
