Priyanka is very capable: Rahul

New Delhi, January 23: Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi s sister formally entered politics on Wednesday, in this occasion speaking to media, Rahul said the BJP was worried that Priyanka Gandhi had joined politics ahead of the general elections.

“Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia are powerful leaders. We wanted the young leaders to change Uttar Pradesh politics," he added, "I am very happy that my sister Priyanka will assist me in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha polls, she is very capable."

Rahul also said that he respects Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, "SP, BSP has formed an alliance in Uttar Pradesh to defeat the BJP. I have no animosity against them. I have to take forward Congress ideology...If they still want to talk to us, we have no problem."

Priyanka Gandhi, married to businessman Robert Vadra and mother of two children, makes a formal entry into active politics.

She is the last one in the fourth generation of the Nehru-Gandhi family, after her brother Rahul Gandhi and cousin Varun Gandhi, to step into the politics.

As per the information, General Secretary Ashok Gehlot, Priyanka Gandhi will be assuming charge from the first week of February.
