KCR yagam for well-being of all

Hyderabad, January 22: Honorable Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao started Sahasra Chandi Yagam under the aegis of Sharada Peetadhipathi Sri Swarupanandendra Saraswathi Swamy of Visakhapatnam at his Erravalli farmhouse in Siddipet district on Monday.

Around 300 Ritviks will recite Durga Saptasati 1,000 times and perform Yagam in five days. The Yagam will be concluded on January 25. The wish of Chandrasekhar Rao is to get timely and bountiful rains in the state and see the welfare of the people of the state, especially the farmers.


On the first day, Durga Saptsati Parayanam was conducted. A special vehicle with thousand Modaks before the commencement of the ritual was made ready. Later rituals were performed before the cows and prayers were offered to the gurus. As part of the rituals KCR couple, who have celebrated golden jubilee in their marital life, also performed Kanyakumari puja. Four Yagnams were conducted for about 3 hours.

Mr. Rao also prayed to the goddess to remove the obstacles in completing the flagship programmes taken up by the government on schedule.
