Nitish will Implement Upper caste Quota

New Delhi, January 21: It is well-known news that, the central govt has announced the 10 % quota for the weaker section recently in this regard, Bihar Chief Minister on Monday (January 21) said 10 per cent quota for weaker sections in the general category will be implemented in the state soon.

From this aspet, Nitish Kumar said the provision has been made in the Constitution and will be implemented in the state shortly while addressing a press conference.

The quota allocation for weaker sections in general category has been lauded by Kumar, who believes that it will help in providing more employment.

"Provision regarding this has been made in Constitution and we will implement it in the state soon. We are taking legal opinion to whether implement it through executive order or by making amendment in Act," he said.

Kumar’s comment came after the Centre’s Constitution (124 Amendment) Bill 2019 for 10 per cent reservation in jobs and educational institutions to economically weaker sections in the general category was passed by the Parliament on January 9 on the last day of the Winter Session.
