Venkaiah Naidu hails PM Modi

New Delhi, January 21: Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking an initiative decision to construct ironman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Speaking to media after visiting the 182-meter statue in Gujarat, Naidu said his "heart was filled with emotions and pride, I have been a fan of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji s since my childhood days. I have always thought that a great man like him has not been given enough recognition." and the visit gave him a feeling of completeness and a sense of unity of mind and soul.

"Through the years, I became a legislator, an MP, a Minister, but I have always had the same feeling that something must be done. Today, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi took initiative and made this grand monument in Patel ji s remembrance. I cannot describe the emotions I am currently feeling in words," the Vice President said.

The Vice President said that the people of India would forever remain grateful to Sardar Patel for consolidating India with a steely resolve. He later addressed the valedictory ceremony of the ninth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar.
