Suresh Raina Praises MS Dhoni

New Delhi, January 13: Indian Cricketer Suresh Raina congratulated Former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni after the latter completed 10,000 ODI runs for India in One-Day Internationals.

The southpaw took to Twitter to congratulate his teammate, writing, “10,000 ODI runs for @msdhoni , Congratulations MS! What a brilliant & illustrious career. Continue doing what you do, inspire millions.”

We all knew that MSD achieved the incredible feat in the first ODI game against Australia at the SCG. In doing so, he became just the fifth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli to score 10,000 ODI runs for India. He had breached the 10,000-run mark in ODIs last year in England itself. However, 174 of those runs had come for Asia XI.

Dhoni needed just one run to achieve the feat when he walked out to bat and he brought up with 10,000th ODI run with a single off Jhye Richardson. Overall, Dhoni is only the 12th player in ODI history to reach the 10000-run club. Apart from the five Indians, the other players in this elusive list are Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), Ricky Ponting (Australia), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Brian Lara (West Indies) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (Pakistan).
