Hyderabad, January 5: Telangana State Government has taken a step to develop tourism in Hyderabad city, in this regard they are planning to establish a Defence Museum, which is very useful for Telangana people.

This Government has urged the Ministry of Defence to provide a war flight and a submarine to turn them into the museum. It has sought TU-142, an anti-submarine de-inducted last year, and a submarine for the showcase to people and the tourists who visit Hyderabad.

Tourism Secretary B. Venkatesham on Friday said he has approached Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chairman Dr. Satish Reddy and Secretary, Department of Defence to discuss this. Eight TU-142 M was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1988. The Soviet-era aircraft, known as one of the most awesome airborne exploration platforms throughout the world, was part of all major naval exercises and operations. They were re-inducted last year.

The objective is to prepare citizens on the operation of the Indian Navy and its favor to the nation. Two of these airborne were re-assembled in Visakhapatnam and West Bengal. the Department of Tourism is planning to establish the museum in coordination with DRDO which would encourage a lot of youngsters to join the defense, Venkatesham said.
