 Traffic resrictions in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, December 31: On the New Year s Eve, all the flyovers in Hyderabad are set to shut between 10 pm and 2 am on Monday as city police have geared up for celebrations being held across the city. The traffic police also said that access to the Hussain Sagar lake in the middle of the city will be restricted to avoid any unpredictable incidents.


Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tankbund from 10 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1,” the advisory states
The traffic advisory states, "Traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace road and upper Tankbund from 10 pm to 2 am on the night of December 31 and January 1".

“Vehicular traffic coming from the V V Statue towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road, while vehicular traffic coming from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Telugu Talli Junction towards Iqbal Minar, and Lakdi ka pul. Vehicular traffic coming from Liberty Junction towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at GHMC Office towards BRK Bhavan and Ravindra Bharathi,” the traffic police said.


“Vehicular traffic coming from Khairatabad Market to go towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted towards Sensation Theater and Lakdi ka pul, while the Mint compound lane adjacent to the state Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic. Vehicular traffic coming from Nallagutta Railway Bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road, while vehicular traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda Crossroad and Lower Tankbund,” authorities added.

The police also said that except the Begumpet Flyover, all flyovers will be closed for Traffic in this period. Travel buses, lorries, and other heavy vehicles shall not be allowed within the city limits till 2 am on January 1.


“The traffic police of Hyderabad City will undertake extensive checks to curb drunken driving, rash, and negligent driving, over speeding, triple riding on two-wheelers and other traffic violations in the interest of public order and safety. People are requested to kindly co-operate with the police personnel on duty,” the advisory stated.
