Chain snatchers strike at five places

Hyderabad, December 27: After a long gap, chain snatchers has placed at five areas in the city on Wednesday and escaped with gold chains from women in individual incidents.

Travelling on a sports bike, two reprobate committed snatchings at Meerpet, Hayathnagar, L.B. Nagar and Vanasthalipuram police station limits. While the snatcher who was riding the bike was wearing light blue full sleeves ‘T’ shirt and jeans, his associate riding pillion was clad in white sleeves ‘T’ shirt and jeans.Deputy Commissioner of Police (L.B. Nagar) Sunpreet Singh confirmed that five chain snatchings took place in the evening.

A 35-year-old Bhaskara Lakshmi, a resident of NGOs Colony, was returning home after meeting her parents at Vaidehinagar when two motorcycle-borne miscreants came from behind and made away with a gold chain weighing three tolas.

And also they snatched six tolas of gold chain within 20 minutes after the incident of Vaidehinagar, at resident of Raji Reddy Nagar in Hasthinapuram, from a 45-year-old Jayamma, was going to purchase vegetables

Jayamma suffered small injuries on neck when miscreants snatched the chain from her. In another incident that took place at Hayathnagar, snatchers took away four tolas of gold chain from a woman, Reshma Reddy.

The police are observing footage collected from surveillance cameras that were installed at places where the snatchings took place.
