Talented Director Sankalp Reddy impressed the audience with Ghazi, his directorial debut, and now he is back with space film Antariksham. Huge expectations are pinned on this film considering his first film to be a huge success. So how the film has fared at the box-office is to be seen.

Story:

Film break into scene with Ground Space center based out of Hyderabad and satellite Mihira loses contact. The astronauts who were tracking Mihira turn panic after loosing track as the satellite nears the Earth and has the potential to cays havoc. This is when Aditi (Riya) goes out for Varun Tej (Dhev), who had previously worked with Sapce center, but had left the place five years back due to his personal loss. How Riya convinces Dhev to come on board. Later, how Dhev, Riya along with two other astronauts Raja Chebolu and Satyadev Kancharana come to find Mihira and fix it forms the crux of the story. Lavanya who plays Dhev’s love interest is seen n flashback episodes.

Ananlysis:

Filmmaker Sankalp needs a pat for attempting a never tried genre in Tollywood’s history., The ideas itself is piquing to see on celluloid for the Telugu audience. Sankalp has successfully established the plot and everything seems believable as the team fixes Mihira. But the problems lies in the second half of Mission Kinnera episode which is unconvincing.

Performances:

Of late, Varun Tej is choosing different track and not going for formulaic films and this needs to be appreciated. Varun as Dhev is in to the skin while, Riyas as Aditi does her job well. Other artistes like Srinivas Avasarala justifies his job. Lavanya, doesn’t get a meaty role but in her limited portion she is fine.

Technicalities:

Sankalp has done good research in showcasing the space shuttle. The VFX is also note worthy but certain portions are unconvincing. The first half tries to establish about the space shuttle but the the second half is lagging. Music composer Prashant Vihari has helped the proceeding and doesn’t go overboard.

Verdict:One Time Watchable

Rating:2.75/5
