New Delhi, December 11: Here is the latest update is that, The ongoing counting process will throw up a crucial verdict in the electoral battle between the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Congress-Telugu Desam Party(TDP) alliance in Telangana, the youngest state in the country, today.



Early figures released for voting to the 119-member assembly gave Chief MInister K Chandrasekhar Rao s TRS close to 85 seats and the Congress-led front a little over 20.

According to the detailes, A poll of exit polls for the 119-member assembly with a majority mark at 60, gave the TRS a second term with a healthy majority of 63 seats. The early leads also proves that KCR s call for early dissolution of the Telangana assembly paid off.

We all knew that, During campaigning, Rao had said that his party would win with "bumper majority". The exit polls also predicted that the TDP-Congress alliance, which claimed to have a "good chemisty", would fall far behind the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Early leads echoed the poll of polls prediction, giving TRS a clear majority with over 80 seats. KCR s daughter K Kavitha, a parliamentarian, said his hard work had paid off. "We are seeing the response of the people. The hard work in four and a half years has paid off," said Ms Kavitha. "Nobody knows Telangana like KCR," she remarked.




The Congress, which for the first time tied up with long-time rival Chandrababu Naidu, will get only 39 of the state s 119 seats, way below the majority mark of 60, the poll of exit polls predicted. Others which is expected to include Asaduddin Owaisi s party -- AIMIM, will get 8 seats, an aggregate of exit polls predicted.

The assembly election in Telangana was to be held in the middle of 2019, but KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, dissolved the state assembly prematurely, pushing forward the election to the end of the year. The counting was preceded by high drama In the state.
