Modi to canvass in 2 districts of Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 27: The election campaign has reached its feverish pitch in Telangana, which is going to elections in another 10 days. And no less than Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spice up the campaign by addressing two rallies of Bharatiya Janata Party in Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar on Tuesday.

The BJP has deliberately chosen these two districts, as the party is stronger here and the Muslims are in sizeable numbers. So, he can polarize Hindu votes. Modi will again address a public meeting in Hyderabad on December 3, two days before the campaign ends for the December 7 polling.

Apparently, by bringing Modi to the campaigning, the BJP wants to send the message across the people that it is taking the Telangana elections very seriously and there is no compromise with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, as is being alleged by the Congress and the TDP.

The opposition parties are highlighting Modi’s praise for KCR in Lok Sabha during the debate on no confidence motion. Subsequently, KCR met the PM twice in one month’s gap before dissolving the Assembly on September 6 and it lent credence to the Opposition’s allegations. By making aggressive attacks on the TRS during the electioneering, the BJP wants to disprove these allegations.

BJP national president Amit Shah alleged that the TRS had failed to implement his pre-election promises, while TRS is charging the BJP with failing to fulfil the commitments made to the new state in the AP Reorganisation Act. Meanwhile, Amit Shah will tour Telangana again on November 28 and on December 2.

“This will definitely give a boost to the BJP cadres,” a party leader said.
