Municipal Corporation of Tirupati distributes house allotment letters to poor

Tirupati, Nov 26: Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has allotted houses to urban poor under the Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) housing scheme during a programme held at Nehru Lalitha Kala Pranganam in Tirupati on Saturday.

As many as 675 houses were allotted at Padipeta to the eligible beneficiaries through computerised lottery system. MCT commissioner V. Vijaya Ramaraju, MLA M. Sugunamma and TUDA chairman G. Narasimha Yadav were present on the occasion. The houses were allotted to the urban poor beneficiaries in a transparent manner.



Speaking on the occasion, MCT commissioner Vijaya Ramaraju said that around 3,360 houses have been constructed under the BSUP scheme. Of these, a total of 1,409 have been allotted so far. “In the first phase 675 beneficiaries were given allotment letters on Saturday.

For the second phase, we are looking forward to giving allotment letters to the remaining beneficiaries before the end of December,” he mentioned.
He added that the construction work of Padipeta housing colony near Tirupati was completed. Work of facilities like internal roads, water supply, electricity, parks and ration stores was under way.

The houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries by end of December at the hands of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He also requested the applicants to pay their subsidized share amount before the prescribed time and avail the allotment letters.
