Telangana: Reddy elected chief of 1st Bar Council

Hyderabad, Nov 25: A Narasimha Reddy, former chairman of the composite AP Bar Council, on Friday was elected as chairman of Telangana State’s first Bar Council. He defeated his nearest rival, Gandra Mohan Rao, with a margin of two votes.

TRS ministers are reported to have called up several members seeking their vote for the TRS backed candidate G. Mohan Rao, however the BJP backer A Narasimha Reddy won the election in a close fight

There was a tie for the post of vice-chairman, with Sunil Goud and Dussa Janardhan getting 10 votes each. Both were declared elected. Through a toss, it was decided that Sunil Goud will serve as vice-chairman for the first half of the two-year tenure, and Janardhan will replace for the second half.
