Hyderabad, Nov 02: Two days after tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband and Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik were blessed with a baby boy, a report in the Pakistani media on Wednesday suggested that the child will not be granted Pakistani citizenship.

The couple have named their little bundle of joy Izhaan Mirza-Malik. In Urdu language, Izhaan means God s gift.

Sania had delivered the baby in Hyderabad s Rainbow Hospital. Sania had married Shoaib in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010.

Meanwhile, a report on urdu.dunyanews.tv has mentioned the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sources as saying that an Indian citizen cannot be granted a citizenship as per the passport and immigration laws of Pakistan. Notably, Pakistan has dual nationality arrangements with 19 countries and India is not one of them.

Notably, Sania Mirza had not given up her Indian citizenship after marrying Shoaib Malik. In September, Shoaib had told reporters in Pakistan that his child would neither be a Pakistani national nor Indian.

"The nationality does not matter however it will neither be Indian nor Pakistani," Malik had said.

Sania had, earlier this year, announced that the child will have Mirza-Malik as the surname and not just Malik.
