Kangana Ranaut - The highest paid actress

Hyderabad, Oct 25: The ever-inclining emolument contrast in Bollywood has always been a subject of much debate. It is well-known that leading actresses earn much less than their actors.

More than often, actresses like Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and Kangana Ranaut have expressed their disappointment about it.

However, it looks like things are moderately varying. Last year, Deepika Padukone made headlines when it was reportedly informed that she was paid more than her Padmaavat co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

This year, there are reports that Kangana Ranaut charged Rs 14 crore for her role in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi , granting her entry to Highest Paid Actress list. This is more than double for what she was paid normally. It was said that she earned Rs 5-6 crore.

After several complications and vaults, Manikarnika, where Kangana essays the role of Rani Laxmibai, will release on January 25, 2019.

After director Krish left the biopic to work on the NTR biopic down South, Kangana stepped in as director.
