Twitter reactions on Asiacup Final Match

During the final of the Asia Cup between India and Bangladesh at Dubai, India beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets in a tense finish to the match. Perhaps, it was the best possible manner to finish such a closely-fought tournament. After being put in to field by Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Bangladesh went off to a handsome start. However, once India got the first breakthrough, things started to fall apart for Bangladesh as they were eventually bundled out for 222 in 48.3 overs.Liton Das, who opened the batting for them, top-scored with his maiden ODI century, scoring 121 (117) with the help of 12 fours and two sixes. Apart from Soumya Sarkar (33) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (32), no other Bangladeshi batsmen crossed the single-figure mark.In the second innings, unlike the trend in the tourney so far, India lost early wickets which exposed their middle-order. A below par performance from India s middle-order called for some jittery scenes on both the field and inside the dressing room. With Dinesh Karthik (37) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (36) getting out and Kedar Jadhav getting retired hurt in quick succession, the match hung in balance. That being said, it was the pair of Ravindra Jadeja (23) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (21) who didn t let pressure get the better of them during some really nervous moments. The duo stitched a 45-run stand, aiding India to eventually seal the chase in the over, albeit without them as both their dismissal added more drama to the match.Jadhav, who had retired in the 38th over, came back to remain unbeaten on 23 as India clinched the title on the last ball of their innings. Needing one run to win off the last ball, Jadhav ran a leg bye down the leg side as India clinched victory.India s nerve-wrenching victory attracted numerous reactions on social media platform Twitter.
