New Delhi, Dec 30:Awadhe Warriors defeated North Eastern Warriors 4-3 in a Premier Badminton League (PBL) contest at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here on Saturday.The mixed doubles pair of Tang Chun Man and Christinna Pedersen won Awadhe s Trump Match against Kim Gi Jung and Prajakta Sawant 15-14, 15-13, giving the Lucknow-based outfit a 2-0 lead.Parupalli Kashyap made it 3-0 after defeating Ajay Jayaram 15-9, 15-12 in the men s singles battle.Olympic 2012 bronze medallist Saina Nehwal overcame Michelle Li 6-15, 15-13, 15-13 to make it an unassailable 4-0 for Awadhe.In the second men s singles match, Wang Tzu Wei crushed Kidambi Srikanth 10-15, 15-9, 15-6 to open NE Warriors account.The men s doubles pair of Kim Gi Jung and Shin Baek Cheol registered a 15-10, 15-12 victory over Harendra Setiawan & Tang Chun Man in NE Warriors aTrump Match to bring down the deficit to one. But it didn t change the result of the tie with Awadhe winning it 4-3.
