Demonetization biggest scam in Independent India : Congress

New Delhi, Nov 29 :The Congress on Monday continued to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetization decision, terming it the "biggest scam in Independent India" and demanding that he apologize for the "mess" he has created.Congress also said that Modi has not demonetized the currency but ended up demonetizing the economy, the jobs, trade and businesses, the agricultural and rural sectors and the people of India. "Demonetization is the biggest scam in Independent India," party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said at a media briefing.Demanding that Modi should "apologize for creating a mess in the whole country", he said the Prime Minister now "needs to come up with a solution for the entire chaos he has created".By a "single disastrous decision, Modi has brought the entire country to a standstill and has demonetized the whole country," he added."With one stroke, Narendra Modi has broken the back of the entire agricultural sector," said Surjewala. "Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and the entire opposition have demanded an investigation through Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC)," he added.Congress also charged the Modi government with changing the rules and directives on demonetization 105 times in last 19 days.
