Telangana introduces free Accidental Insurance Scheme

Hyderabad, Nov 10: The Telangana Government had introduced free Accidental Insurance Scheme for Transport & Non-Transport Auto drivers, working journalists and Home guards in the state during the year 2015, Labour and Employment Minister Nayni Narasimha Reddy said on Friday.Replying to questions in the house, Mr. Reddy said that the premium amount was paid by the state government and the beneficiary would get Rs 5 lakh.The Minister said about 14,11,514 Transport & Non-Transport Auto drivers Working journalists (16,492) and Home Guards (20,230) would get benefitted from the scheme.The Scheme was extended from time to time and new insurance coverage for the period 2017-18 to the beneficiaries was introduced by Labour Employment Training & Factories Department on August 23, 2017, by releasing a GO, the Minister added.
