French Open prize increased

Parris April 27: French Open organizers have increased the tennis grand slam tournament s prize money by 12 percent to 36 million euros.They have also narrowed the gap between the earnings of the men s and women s winners and the first-round losers.The two champions of the second grand slam championship of 2017 will pocket 2.1 million euros each, up 100,000 euros from 2016.First-round losers will earn 35,000 euros ($A50,900).The figures were announced by tournament director Guy ForgetThe French Open runs from May 28 to June 11.
