ACB arrested 2 officials of APSPDCL in a Bribe case

Vijayawada, March 29: The two officials of Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has been arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday while they were accepting a bribe from a consumer. While coming to details, An Assistant Engineer R Sambasiva Rao and lineman TMDKC Gandhi, who are working with the Payakapuram section of APSPDCL, were caught red-handed by the ACB officials while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000, including APSPDCL fee of Rs 5,600, from a complainant, Shaik Ajaybabu from Radhanagar in Payakapuram, for changing his existing single-phase electricity connection to a three-phase connection.The bribe amount was recovered from the pocket of the lineman.Both the accused were produced before the special judge for ACB cases in Vijayawada. Further investigation is going on.
