Indian pacers putting pressure on Australia a great sign: Ganguly

Kolkata, March 27 (IANS) :Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Monday said that it was refreshing to see Indian pacers led by Umesh Yadav put pressure on Australia in the ongoing series, adding that Yadav has been bowling really well. The pacer has picked up 17 wickets from 4 Tests, including the three wickets he took on day three in Dharamsala to help India stay within sniffing distance of a 2-1 series win. India now need 87 runs to win after the tourists were bundled out for a meagre 137 in their second innings."To see an Australia team on the backfoot against Indian fast bowling is a great sign. Umesh to me has been bowling really well. I hope he carries on the good form with the ball," Ganguly told reporters here.He also reserved praise for chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav who set the tone for the hosts with a four wicket debut in the first essay."Hopefully it s the beginning of something very good," said Ganguly."He is young. He will learn. Credit should go to (Anil) Kumble for giving him an opportunity. End of the day it s the bowlers who will pick 20 wickets for you to win test matches."Meanwhile, West Indies top-order batsman Darren Bravo, who was roped in by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) this season for Rs 50 lakh, survived an injury scare during practice at the Eden Gardens here. The left-hander was hit on his wrist from a Ankit Rajpoot delivery during nets.KKR management later confirmed that the injury was not serious. All-rounder Yusuf Pathan joined the Knights camp.
