Vijayawada March 25: Good news for the Vijayawada citizens, as they are the part of the metropolitian area soon.While coming to matter.With demands getting louder from all corners, the state government finally notified Vijayawada as a metropolitan area.Nineteen villages in and around the city form part of the metropolitan area.The govt, in a late night order on Thursday, ratified a proposal sent by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on March 2016, and made Vijayawada a metropolitan city. In the GO 104 issued by principal secretary (municipal administration and urban development) Karikal Valaven, the government, after a careful examination, had decided to specify the city as a metropolitan area under clause (c) of article 243P of the Constitution.
