GHMC greater corruption

Hyderabad, March 18: Corruption is continuing everywhere, As GHMC officers are held here in Hyderabad for illegally changing the name of the owner of a Property. While coming to matter, Two data entry operators working in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on contract through an outsourcing agency - B. Polaiah and M. Lakhan Singh, were removed from service with immediate effect for illegally changing the name of the owner of a property online without any backup documents. The duo in connivance with K. Koteshwara Rao, changed the name of D. Rama Bai, property owner and a resident of Banjara Hills, in favor of the former. The incident came to light when Ms. Bai complained to the deputy commissioner concerned and even GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy that when she went to pay advance property tax for the year she was shocked to see the name of Mr. Rao as the owner in the municipal records. In fact, Ms. Bai had purchased the property (H.No.8-2- 609/17/M, Gourishanker Colony, Road No.11, Banjara Hills) from Mr. Rao in 2015, got it registered and the property was also mutated in her name in the municipal records too, the same year. Based on her complaint, the Commissioner ordered an inquiry where the unauthorized change in the name in the records came to the fore with no official having signed the order. With the help of Centre for Good Governance (CGG) the internet protocol address from where the change was made was ascertained through which the role played by B. Polaiah and his colleague Lakhan Singh was established. The Commissioner informed that both of them colluded with Rao in changing the ownership name by taking a bribe as was revealed in the vigilance department report. Cases against all the three persons have been registered in the Banjara Hills police station.
