High court fined Rs. 5 lakh to Postal Dept

Hyderabad, March 17: The Hyderabad High court has fined Rs.5 lakhs to the postal department for neglecting to transfer the MBBS application of a student.While coming to details, K.Sai Kumar Reddy has belonged to Hyderabad, who had applied for the MBBS seat in the medical college, which has to work under ESI. After the announcement of TS EAMCET results on 16th September 2016, He had sent the application for MBBS through speed post to the Delhi.The application was reached on 19-09-2016, which was known by the online tracking of postal department.The last date for application submission was 07-10-2016.Lastly, The college has rejected the admission of Sai, for late submission of application. He got depressed and lodge a case in the high court on Postal department, hence the justice V.Ramasubramaniyan and Justice J.Umadevi had given the verdict as fined the Rs. 5 lakhs to postal department and it should be pay to sai Kumar within 8 weeks.HC has concerned on him for spoiling his future plans.The Postal dept has objected the judgement of the high court and stated that : "Out postal dept was not eligible for the penalty, which has announced in the verdict.The application was reached us on 18-10-2016, already the last date for submission of an application for admissions had ended. The arriving of the application has failed to reach us in time, it s not our mistake according to the Indian post office Act. Meanwhile, Speed post was not considered into our dept, which has competing with other courier services", they added.
