Poorna to be shot in real locations

Mumbai, March 16: When Rahul Bose set out to direct "Poorna" -- a biopic about a teenager who became the youngest girl in the world to scale Mount Everest -- he knew he wanted to shoot mostly at real locations. But shooting on the highest mountain is a wish that couldn t be fulfilled.Rahul, who has acted in and even directed the film, shot a few scenes at the house where the real life Poorna Malavath -- a tribal girl from Telangana -- used to stay.Talking about it, he said in a statement: "When we started filming Poorna , I was certain we should shoot at as many actual locations as we can."So, we shot at Poorna s village, Pakala, her actual hut, the actual location (Bhongir) she learnt rock climbing on, and at HMI, Darjeeling where she learnt mountaineering."We would have shot on Everest if we could have, but I doubt my crew from Bombay would have survived."Produced by Rahul Bose Productions, Raay Media Pvt Ltd and co-produced by Amit Patni, the film will release on March 31.
