Hyderabad March 10: Now days people are preferring to social media to express their views, it has become fashion. so GHMC made plain to become 'Digital GHMC' If anyone has complaints they can easily message them it to official pages of GHMC.

The Telangana government has decided to utilise social media platforms - Facebook and Twitter - for spreading information on government schemes and to use responses to resolve grievances.

The state government has directed all the district collectors to open Facebook accounts to interact with people and solve their problems.

To make this exercise more effective, the collectors have been asked to identify some staffers to be trained in handling the social media accounts. When in place, these accounts for all the district administration units in the state, will be a first in the country.

The feature got the good response from the public point of view, They have been raising the problems which they were faced, an eventually the GHMC officials are responding with immediate action.

The GHMC, which opened its Twitter account in October 2015, has 10,020 followers until March 6, 2017. Its counterparts such as Bangalore Municipal Corporation (@BBMPComm1) has 7,913 followers and Pune Municipal Corporation (@PMCPune) has 5,317 followers.

GHMC's Twitter handle is being used by many people for bringing their grievances to the notice of the corporation and these are being resolved on a priority basis," GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said.

Officials said many of the grievances relate to road conditions and sanitation and some people also tag photographs of such issues. The grievances are then sent to the zonal commissioners, who have separate Twitter accounts for taking action.

Even municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao, who regularly monitors people's grievances, tags and responds on Twitter through his personal account, a senior official said
