17 lakh fine for love marriage

Karachi March 10: Pakistani court has been imposed a whopping fine on a man for love marriage here on Thursday.

while going to matter, a fine of Rs 17 lakh has been imposed on a man for love marriage. The fine was imposed by a Pakistani ‘jirga’ or tribal court.

The tribal court announced its decision in Bajar Abad village near Tangwani in Kandhkot-Kashmore district of the southern Sindh province of Pakistan.

The man's only crime was that he had opted for love marriage, which the court said had brought bad name to the family of the girl. The man will have to pay Rs 17 lakh to the family of his wife. The love marriage was as per the wishes of both the man and the woman and it was registered eight months ago in a court of law.

Similarly in another case. In a disturbing development, a Hindu woman in Pakistan has been killed by a group of unidentified people.

According to family members, the victim Zania Kumari was killed for no apparent reason by some powerful people in the area. Zania was axed to death, after which, the killers escaped quickly.

The murder occurred in Baba Kot area of Nasirabad district in the restive southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan.

The family of the victim has requested the police to take strict action against the culprits and also to provide security to the family.

The police have registered a murder case against the unidentified killers.
