WhatsApp gets old status

Hyderabad, March 8: WhatsApp is the trending app in social media recent times.Now they unveiled the new version but users want to bring back the old status.

Facing backlash and user anger at the new changes in the app, WhatsApp is reportedly bringing back the old Status feature that allowed users to set up a text message as their status in their user's profiles. However, now the feature -- once it is back -- will be called Tagline.

WhatsApp had rolled out a new feature called Status. This adds a tab to the app, similar to the Chat tab, where people can share their photos and videos. At the same time, the company removed the old "status" feature that was part of the user profile.

WhatsApp's new Status feature has so far divided users. Many see it as an unnecessary complication that will turn their chat into a social media app. Many other, meanwhile, like the feature but lament the loss of old Status feature and removal of Contacts tab from the main navigation bar.

The 'y About' section is available as a hidden feature on the beta version of WhatsApp and has been introduced in the extended menu above the 'Settings' option on Android. Tapping that will bring the users to the all familiar 'Status' menu which has been renamed to ‘My About'.

The changes have been added to the 'Profile' section too and the 'Info' has been added back to the profile. One thing to note is that the company had previously renamed the Old status to 'Tagline' as reported by WABetaInfo.

Another interesting thing is that the company seems to have rolled out the message 'revoke' feature that we previously reported.
