Highly qualified Soft thief

Nalgonda, March 08: A Software company founder turned thief had been arrested by Nalgonda Police on Tuesday, who had chosen the path to earn easy money after incurring heavy losses in business.

The police recovered 70gms of gold, 1kg of silver, two laptops and electric gadgets from his possession. The arrested was identified as Nadimpally Venkata Vijay (37), a native of Reddypalem village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. On the tip-off, the police took the accused into the custody while taking up a vehicle check in the town.

As the photos of his car were already distributed to people after movement of the vehicle was recorded through closed circuit cameras, local people alerted the police on noticing his car, which helped the police to arrest the thief. During interrogation, Venkata Vijay confessed that he had committed four thefts in Nalgonda town.

Presenting Vijay before the media, Prakash Reddy said the accused, was an MBA pass-out from a reputed university in Hyderabad and had worked as an employee in a software company.

He had also set up Chaturvyuha Infotech Private Limited at ECIL in Hyderabad in 2005, but suffered Rs 70 lakh in loss.

Later, the accused resorted to thefts to make easy money. In all, 12 cases had been filed against the accused in Vijayawada and Rajahmundry towns. After spending two months in Vijayawada jail, the accused was released recently and he again started committing thefts.

The Modus Operandi of the accused was to travel in his Chevrolet Beat Car and commit the offences. He never stayed in lodges of the towns selected for committing the crime as a precaution, so that his identity was not revealed.

The police said the accused had mortgaged 180gms of stolen gold in a Muthoot Finance branch. The police would take up measures to recover the mortgaged gold.

The Superintendent of Police also extended reward to ID Party Constable, who made the breakthrough in the case.
