4 persons robbed the house

Kharkhana (Hyderabad) March 5: Four persons have been allegedly robbed the house of an Army colonel in Kharkhana after tying up his son with tape on the wee hours of Saturday.

According to the police officials, the colonel, S B Nair, who lives in A P Text Book Colony in Kharkhana had gone to Bengaluru on Friday evening, leaving his son Sunil Nair alone at the house. Around 9.30 pm the same day, four persons entered the house and went to the first floor where Sunil was sitting. They overpowered him and tied his hands and legs.

The gang then ransacked the house and made away with gold ornaments weighing 1.5 kg. Sunil later freed himself and informed the police.

The Kharkhana police rushed to the spot but by then the miscreants had left the place. The police suspect that the watchman, Jeevan, who is absconding since Friday night, could have a role in the incident. Police have collected footage recorded by closed circuit cameras installed in and around the house to identify the robbers.
