MLA Roja attends Gannavaram court

Vijayawada March 4: YSRCP MLA Roja, who bagged the Andhra Pradesh police to court for undermining her rights, attended a hearing in the Additional Junior Civil Judge Court at Gannavaram here on Friday.

The Civil Judge heard the arguments made by Ms. Roja's legal counsel P. Gowtham Reddy.



Gowtham, argued in front of the judge that the court should take cognizance of the private case filed against Director-General of Police (DGP) N. Sambasiva Rao, two Assistant Commissioners of Police and one Circle Inspector for confining her wrongfully when she came to attend the National Women's Parliament at the invitation of Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

The judge posted the case for hearing on March 24.

Telugu Desam activists too reached the court and raised slogans like "Down, down Roja". The police stopped them when they tried to follow her into the court.
