Trade licenses in online from now

Hyderabad march 3: Good news for the Greater Hyderabadi business merchants, As traders to self-assess and apply for trade licenses through the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation website.

To ensure that interaction between traders and officials is kept at the minimal to rule out any scope for corruption, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made the process of obtaining trade licenses online.

The new service, which would begin on Friday, allows traders to self assess and apply for trade licenses through the GHMC website. The applicants would be given a provisional certificate after they pay the license fee online.

To obtain the license online, the applicants have to enter their details such as name, mobile number, email address, and Aadhaar card number. The applicant would then receive an SMS with the user ID and password on the registered mobile number.

The user can upload all the necessary documents based on which the trade license would be automatically calculated. Additional information like which officer the file has been sent to would also be made available online.

A field verification report of the trader would be submitted later. The Deputy Commissioner or the Zonal Commissioner, who is the final authority, would clear the file after receiving the report, and a TIN (Trade License Identification Number) would be generated.

The GHMC officials are also planning to send notices to establishments that have not been paying the trade license fee. According to the officials, around one lakh commercial establishments would be asked to cough up trade license fees from the current year.
