He urged the construction companies to participate in the construction of double-bedroom houses as a social responsibility.

The Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development opined that the double-bedroom houses scheme would help make the city slum-free.

He said cement companies had come forward to provide cement at lesser price and the government had already discussed the issue with the cement companies and it had decided to provide sand free of cost.

The State government would construct double bedroom houses in a big way at one place to provide education, medical and other needed social infrastructure to the people living in double-bedroom houses.

Making it clear that there was no trouble in paying bills, Rama Rao said the government had identified 600 acres of land for construction of double bedroom houses on the city outskirts.
