Shortage in drinking water

Kadapa February 27: Summar has begun, Hundreds of villages in the Kadapa district are facing severe drinking water shortage prior to the summer season.People of the Rayachoti has been facing a lot of problems before the summer season.

While going to matter, The ground level water has come down drastically due to insufficient rains and incompletion of irrigation projects. The situation is worse in 58 villages of Rayachoti constituency and 20 villages in Budvel constituency as people are unable to get drinking water every day.

Speaking to media, District Collector K V Satyanarayana said that the State Govt has released Rs 3 crore against the proposals of Rs 40 crore to meet the water shortage crises in the district.

On the directions of the Govt, the Collector said orders were given to release 0.2 tmcft of water from Paidipalem reservoir to Proddatur town. RWS Superintendent Engineer A Sanjeeva Rao said that his department has been taking measures to supply water to villages through water tankers.
