Israel technological support to Andhra Pradesh for irrigation projects

Amaravati, February 24: The Andhra Pradesh state has been succeeded to get the Israel technological support in several areas relating to homeland security, cyber security, Internet of Things (IOT), agriculture, education, water, health and others, said Daniel Carmon Ambassador of Israel to India in a meeting with AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.

Israel offered to collaborate in setting up of desalination plants to meet the needs of drinking and irrigation water.

He further requested the Chief Minister for strengthening of Israel-AP Joint Working Group to improve cooperation in various fields like the Center Of Excellence in Agriculture, which is being set up in Kuppam with an aim to benefit the farmer community by providing knowledge, training and capacity building.

Reacting to this, the Chief Minister agreed to strengthen the Joint Working Group between Israel and AP and appointed the AP Economic Development Board as the nodal agency to oversee the progress and cooperation and welcomed the initiatives taken by the Israeli government in promoting the cooperation in various fields like agriculture, water management and other sectors.

Naidu recalled that during his tenure as the Chief Minister of united AP, he had invited the Israeli government to cooperate in the field of water management and micro irrigation.

The Chief Minister also invited the Israeli government to set up centers of innovation and research and cooperate in the fields of education by setting up a University in the State.
