Hyderabad, February 24: The Cyberabad police of cyber crime cell were arrested an ATM 'shoulder rubbing' gang of 3 members.

The accused persons would stand close to unassuming victims and note down their ATM card details when they use it. Like that, they stole nearly Rs. 1.35 lakh from different accounts.

The accused were identified as K.V. Madhusudhan Reddy, P. Vinod Kumar Reddy, and Donda Lokanath — they are all close friends.

The kingpin, Madhusudhan, was previously involved cases registered in Cudappah district.

He had taught the other two how to commit the offence, and due to financial problems they began stealing money using the method.

The fraud came to light when one Mohammad Irfan Pasha, a resident of Jagathgirigutta, lodged a complaint on January 20 with the police stating that Rs. 53,479 was withdrawn from his account through multiple transactions without his authorisation.

During the investigation, it was found that the trio had managed to obtain the details of his card and transferred the money to online wallets.
