Hyderabad February 21: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana officials submitted the details of assets of four Schedule IX institutions to the Department of Home Affairs in Delhi on Monday.

The Home Affairs Department, after its meeting in January, sought the details of the properties of APSRTC, APAGROS, AP Dairy Development Corporation and AP Foods when the two States put forth different arguments on what constituted properties of the headquarters of these institutions.

Telangana said headquarters would only include the main administrative building of an institution. For instance, it said only ‘Bus Bhavan’ of APSRTC would fall under the assets of the headquarters and not other properties of APSRTC such as land next to the Bus Bhavan, staff quarters, ‘Kalyana Mandapam’ etc.

Andhra Pradesh disagreed with the Telangana’s view and reiterated all the assets of the institution built and acquired over the years in the combined State would come under the gamut of assets of headquarters and said all the above assets be divided between the two States.

Sources in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh said that they submitted detailed list of properties of the four institutions to Mr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Secretary, Home Affairs. The GoI official would examine the details of the assets and give a decision, they said.

There are 89 Schedule IX institutions whose assets and personnel were to be divided between the two States. The Centre entrusted the responsibility to Sheela Bide committee.
